Your Unique Brain Deserves Personalized Healing
Your brain is unique—so your healing should be too. At RHWC, we use the NeuroInfiniti Stress Response Evaluation to identify your brain's current operating patterns. From this, we assign one of four brain types to guide your care: Over-Aroused, Under-Aroused, Exhausted, or Chaotic.
This guide helps you understand each brain type more deeply and explains why your symptoms make sense. You'll also get an overview of what healing looks like for your specific type.
Over-Aroused Brain
Your nervous system is stuck in a constant "on" position. This type reflects sympathetic dominance—always alert, often overwhelmed, and rarely rested.
Common Signs:
  • Racing thoughts, anxiety, or panic
  • Tight neck, jaw, or shoulders
  • Light or interrupted sleep
  • Digestive issues or tension headaches
What's Happening:
Your body is in protection mode. This can be due to past trauma, chronic stress, or patterns of over-responsibility. Your brain struggles to downshift.
Healing Focus:
  • Grounding tools, breathwork, and sleep rhythms
  • Nervous system safety and restoration
  • Gentle movement and consistent structure
Under-Aroused Brain
Brain Type
This nervous system is under-activated, often sluggish or foggy. It reflects parasympathetic dominance or freeze-like patterns.
Common Signs
  • Brain fog, fatigue, low motivation
  • Oversleeping or unrefreshing rest
  • Difficulty following through on goals
  • Emotional numbness or disconnection
What's Happening
The brain has down-regulated to conserve energy. Often rooted in chronic stress, burnout, or withdrawal.
Healing Focus
  • Activation tools and light exposure
  • Energizing routines and accountability
  • Movement, breath, and brain stimulation
Exhausted Brain
Your system has been running hard for too long—and it's tapped out. This brain type is often the result of prolonged stress, over-functioning, and depletion. This is crisis mode for the nervous system.
Common Signs
  • Physical fatigue and emotional burnout
  • Difficulty waking up or winding down
  • Hormonal imbalances or immune dips
  • Feeling unmotivated but wired underneath
What's Happening
The nervous system is frayed. It's not fully overactive or underactive—it's both, unpredictably.
Healing Focus
  • Deep rest and replenishment
  • Support for sleep, hormone balance, and energy repair
  • Nervous system pacing and compassion-based routines
Chaotic Brain
This brain type is unpredictable and dysregulated. It swings between high activation and shutdown.
Common Signs
  • Mood swings or irritability
  • Restless sleep or insomnia
  • Inconsistent focus or attention
  • Sensory overload or physical tension
What's Happening
The brain can't find a rhythm. It fluctuates rapidly due to unresolved trauma, adrenal burnout, or poor nervous system regulation.
Healing Focus
  • Stabilizing rhythms and routines
  • Regulating tools (breathwork, movement, biofeedback)
  • Safe structure and supportive sensory input
Why This Matters
Once you understand your brain type, you stop seeing symptoms as personal flaws—and start seeing them as patterns you can work with. This is your starting point. You are capable of healing. These patterns can shift, and we're here to guide you step by step.
